Revisiting old friends

I’ve recently been on a reading slump, possibly a direct result of the craziness going on in the world around us, so I was looking for a comfort read. Something familiar that will make me happy.

After some thought, I decided to listen to the Vampire Cherry series. Yup, my Vampire Cherry series. And I’m loving it. Back then, I was writing fully from the heart, not worrying so much about grammar rules and syntax, and avoiding the overuse of adjectives and adverbs. And guess what? It read more real, more alive.

I want to start writing for fun again. To get back in touch with the happiness that stemmed from seeing your characters come to life on paper/the screen. And I definitely want to revisit Cherry’s world. There’s so much more to play with there, and I gave it all up when the second Cherry Stem – Paranormal Private Investigator book didn’t go the way I planned.

So I don’t know when, but more Cherry and the gang will come this way. And I’m also thinking of starting to post the book I’ve been writing somewhere, too. I obviously crave feedback, in order to be productive. Why not do something about it?

So watch this space, yes?
